2nd Steering Committee on the Mediterranean marine environment
On November 5th and under the aegis of Lucien Chabason, Plan Bleu brought together in Marseilles the second Steering committee for its working programme on the Mediterranean marine environment.
The members of this steering committee came from both sides of the Mediterranean and belong to international organizations, NGOs, scientific institutions…
Anaï Mangos (Programme officer on Marine economy) and Didier Sauzade (Sea Programme officer) presented their works. The working programme of Plan Bleu on marine environment includes an economic approach of the effects generated by the marine and coastal environment preservation on the local development, as well as a section on the sustainability of marine activities in the Mediterranean.
The programme been approved in its approach and its positioning choices, while being the object of profitable exchanges. The Steering committee members emphasized the advantage of developing economic arguments for the preservation and the sustainable development under clear basis while reminding the cautions with which the results must be presented.
