3rd meeting of the Water Experts Group of the UfM

On February, 25th, 2010 in Madrid, Pierre Icard represented Plan Bleu at the 3rd meeting of the Water Experts Group in the framework of the Union for Mediterranean.

The experts group looked over the project of Mediterranean Strategy for Water proposed by the technical editorial committee. The countries and observers were asked to formalize their comments in writing. The written contributions were expected for March 4th. A new draft of the strategy will be discussed from 10th to 20th March. The final document will have to be formalized by 1st April at the latest so that the strategy be adopted during the next Ministerial Water Conference, scheduled on April 12th and 14th, 2010, in Barcelona.

This meeting was preceded by a workshop on 24th February, devoted to the financing issue for the water sector in the Mediterranean.
