Regional workshop «Promote Sustainable Tourism in the Mediterranean »

In 2007 Plan Bleu launched, in the framework of the Mediterranean Strategy for Sustainable Development (MSSD), a working programme relying on a series of national and regional studies. This programme aims, on the one hand, at assessing the tourism situation with regard to the MSSD in some riparian countries and, on the other hand at setting up a reflection frame regarding four major stakes linking tourism and sustainable development on the Mediterranean region scale. With a view to presenting the results issuing from these various studies, to discussing them and to drawing working tracks out of them for the near future, Plan Bleu organized on July, 2nd and 3rd 2008, in Sophia-Antipolis (France) a regional workshop. Gathering more than sixty participants, this workshop was a place for debates and discussions in so far as it enabled to compare the conclusions and viewpoints drawn from the national and regional studies with those of experts from different disciplines. <More...>
