The television programme “Thalassa” devoted to the Mediterranean coastal area On 26th of September 2008, Lucien Chabason, Chairman of the Plan Bleu, participated in the France 3 television programme “Thalassa” broadcasted live from Antibes and devoted to the Mediterranean coastal area. Lucien Chabason presented the coastal legislations for several Mediterranean countries, as well as the Barcelona Convention’s Protocol on integrated coastal zone management in the Mediterranean. |

Steering Committee of EEA’s report on climate change adaptation indicators in Europe From 3rd to 4th of September 2008 in Szentendre (Hungary), Plan Bleu participated in the Steering Committee of the European Environment Agency’s report on climate change adaptation indicators in Europe. The aims of the meeting were : 1/ to define the general framework to elaborate climate change adaptation indicators for Europe and 2/ to measure the organization to set up for a regular follow-up. On this occasion Plan Bleu presented a battery of climate change impact indicators in the Mediterranean. |

XIIIth World Water Congress "Global changes and Water resource" Plan Bleu took part in the XIIIth World Water Congress organized by IWRA (International Water Resources Association) under the patronage of the French Minister of Foreign and European Affairs and of the French Minister for Higher Education and Research. The congress was held in Montpellier (France), from 1st to 4th September 2008, with the participation of about 500 participants coming from 70 countries. For Plan Bleu, Mohammed Blinda presented the various stakes of water in the Mediterranean at the Mediterranean session on "water availability, use and management". |
