Blue Plan/CERAM Workshop: Climate change, energy resources
scarcity

The workshop entitled « Climate change, energy resources scarcity: opportunities to innovate and undertake in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Tunisia and in the Mediterranean”, was held on Thursday 1st October 2009 in Hôtel Belvédère Fourati, in Tunis.

This workshop was co-organized with the CERAM- Business School, which is also a High Tech Entrepreneurship Centre that is positioning into skills development for the creation of innovative activities in energy sector. It aimed to put in perspective the Blue Plan’s global analysis  on sustainable energy and climate change issue with the initiatives of  innovation ’s stakeholders in the area of renewable energy and efficient use of energy. It was a matter of identifying barriers to innovation and proposing actions needed to be implemented in order to transcend these barriers and accelerate transition of Mediterranean countries towards a sustainable energy system that will generate economic development.

The agenda of the day was divided in two parts:

• "The cost of climate change in the Mediterranean: context, issues, key figures"
• "Innovate in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Tunisia"
