Launch of the project ARP PARME
What research and what partnerships for the Mediterranean in the next 10 years? Such is the theme of the workshop forward thinking (Atelier de Réflexion Prospective PARME) launched by the French National Agency of Research in which the Blue Plan participates.
The ARP PARME project aims to define the Mediterranean region’s research priorities in the next 10 years, providing emphasis on four major challenges confronting the region, namely, health, agriculture and food, energy and water, culture and civilization. This workshop will develop mechanisms to enhance cooperation in research, capacity building and development based on a forward-looking, cross-cutting and multi-stakeholder approach.
Lead by Agropolis International, the PARME consortium gathers 15 partners, research centres, universities as well as cooperation and economic development actors. The networks constitute a conglomerate of multi-disciplinary academic authorities covering the identified themes.
The project is organized into four (4) phases: (i) analysis of previous work; (ii) elaboration of various sets of assumptions; (iii) thematic analyses by parallel working groups being also open to other experts; and (iv) preparation of a final report which articulates the identified research and innovation priorities and proposes various modes and mechanisms for cooperation.
Consortium member and representative to the Steering Committee and orientation of the ARP, Plan Bleu will provide both its own vision of development and environment and its experience of cooperation and projects joining research and development activities.
