Workshop “international and interurban transport forecast in
the Mediterranean”

On the 12th of december 2008, Philippe Vallouis facilited on Montpellier a workshop about the assumptions  of a prospective analysis on international and interurban prospective survey for 2025 with French Development Agency (AFD). This workshop was based on two prospective interrogations:

1/ What will be the impact of a fuel barrel price increase for transport?
2/ How  to anticipate this increase in order to reduce the impact in a sustainable way thanks to:

- pricing and regulation
- improvement of Transport systems efficiency
- infrastructures promoting more sustainable aspects

Twenty experts from Creece, Turkey, Libanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and France discussed on the assumptions and allowed to define them. The forecast exercice can go on in order to give a report on middle 2009.
