Water Cluster Meeting

Mohammed Blinda participated at the Water Cluster meeting held on 26 May by Veolia Water of Montpellier and its local partners.

The "Water Cluster" was born on 11 February 2008, in the association VERSeau development. The research laboratories, training organizations (IFR, ILEE) and companies (SWELIA) of Languedoc-Roussillon region have partnered to create added value from innovative projects in the field of water to address issues raised by a concerted water resources management in a local, national, regional and global levels. Water Cluster is led by a Governance Committee composed of 12 members (6 representatives from industry, 4 representatives of research and higher education and 2 representatives of interface associations), which defines political, scientific and financial strategy. It is open to regional and multidisciplinary partnerships as poles acting on the Mediterranean coast: pole Risques (Aix en Provence), pole Mer (Toulon) and pole DERBI (Perpignan).

The seminar brought together more than 60 people and was an opportunity for the initiators of the project to present developments and prospects of Water Cluster after one year of its existence and they are announced the initiative towards a creation of the Euro- Mediterranean Water Cluster: a mission confided to Senator Pierre Laffitte by the President of the Republic.
