On the 3rd of December 2009, the Villa Valmer premises in Marseille hosted the steering committee of the Plan Bleu Water Activity Programme.

It brought together the main partners of the programme, the French Ministry for Sustainable development (MEEDM), the French Development Agency (AFD), the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation for Development (AECID), the Rhône-Méditerranée-Corse Water Agency (AERMC), the Hydroscience research unit, Véolia Environment and experts, well-known within the Mediterranean region for their scientific and/or institutional competencies: Fadi Georges Comair (Lebanon), Ridha Besbes (Tunisia), Michael Zaide (Israel), Sasa Devic (Croatia).

This steering committee was a great opportunity to present the activities carried out in 2009. The orientations for the 2010-2011 programme were also validated after a fruitful debate organized around the following issues: water use and allocation efficiency, economic analysis and water demand management, climate change-water nexus, and non conventional water resources.
