Steering Committee "economic approach of Mediterranean
marine ecosystems"
On the 8th of September 2009, Blue Plan gathered the Steering Committee of the working programme “economic approach of Mediterranean marine ecosystems”, under the supervision of Henri-Luc Thibault and Lucien Chabason.
The project team, composed of Anaï Mangos, Didier Sauzade and Jean-Pascal Bassino (Teacher-cum-Researcher of Montpellier II University), took advantage of the support and enlightenment of 12 Mediterranean experts specialized in environmental economics, marine ecology and Mediterranean cooperation – issued from different structures (EEA, RAC-SPA, DEFI, FEMISE, IDDRI, Ifremer, ISMAL, LAMETA, OKIANOS, Tour du Valat, IUCN Med).
The Blue Plan’s work programme, including one regional study and several local studies, was approved in its processes and positioning choices.
The Steering Committee members also reminded the importance of developing analysis in integrating the halophytic coastal ecosystems as well as the social aspects related to the environmental services’ uses and resources and natural areas’ management.
