Agreement between Blue Plan and OME

In the framework of Blue Plan’s “energy and climate change” activities and of OME’s works on prospective energy on the theme of “renewable energy and sustainable development”, an agreement was signed on 16th of July 2009, associating these two organizations in the realization of common studies on the possible energy futures in the Mediterranean region.

These works will be more particularly focused on the creation of an alternative scenario on the very voluntarist break off and were more ambitious on the energy efficiency and renewable energy whose benefits will be quantified in comparison to the OME "baseline scenario".

The Observatoire Méditerranéen de l’Energie (OME) is an association of the energy companies of the Mediterranean-rim countries whose main objective is the promotion of cooperation and collaboration between the major energy companies in the Mediterranean basin. The association offers a center for studies and information on energy in the region as well as a think tank and permanent meeting forum for the various members of the energy sector in the Mediterranean.
