International seminar on the desalination of water

Mohammed BLINDA represented the Blue Plan in the international seminar on the desalination of water, organized by the Amicale des Ingénieurs du Génie Rural Morocco (AIGR) and the Association Echanges Méditerranéens, pour l’eau, la forêt et le développement (France), held between 8 and 10 May 2009 in Tangier (Morocco).

Desalination of seawater is a growing practice, especially to cover the needs of Drinking water & industrial and the tourism sector in some parts of the world affected by shortages of water resources, particularly in the Mediterranean basin.

This event was an opportunity for the hundreds of participants from the 5 Mediterranean countries to discuss technical, legislative, institutional, financial and environmental issues related to desalination of seawater
