2009 Paris Forum: Save the Mediterranean

From 28th to 29th March, 2009, Lucien Chabason, Blue Plan’s chairman and Henri-Luc Thibault took part to the 2009 Paris Forum devoted to “Save the Mediterranean”. They spoke at the sessions on environmental situation of the Mediterranean Sea and on consequences of climate change in the region. They also presented the Blue Plan’s analysis and outlook on these topics, emphasizing the challenges to be  taken up to as well as the tools that Riparian countries provided themselves to confront them together: legal instrument with the Barcelona Convention, strategic tool with the Mediterranean Strategy of Sustainable Development, dialogue organ with the Mediterranean Commission for Sustainable Development. At the end of the Forum, recommendations were adopted, calling to the implementation of a Great Cities Forum and an antipollution police.
