EIB Forum “Promoting sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean: how to address the economic and environmental challenges”
On March 6th, 2008, in Berlin, Henri-Luc Thibault participated as a moderator in the EIB Forum “Promoting sustainable tourism in the Mediterranean: how to address the economic and environmental challenges”. Organized within the framework of the International Meetings of Berlin on Tourism (ITB Berlin), this event was opened by Philippe de Fontaine Vive, EIB vice-president in charge of Facility for Euro-Mediterranean Investment and Partnership (FEMIP) and gathered about 200 attendees, mainly from the institutional sector or to the business world. During the sessions were reminded the pre-eminent place of Mediterranean tourism in the world tourism market, the different strategies adopted by the Mediterranean countries, in particular the countries members of FEMIP to promote sustainable tourism and the role of the private sector on this issue.
