Mediterranean scientific conference, Workshop « The impacts of
climatic change in the Mediterranean » Paris, June 24-25, 2008

Upon the analysis of the political, economic, physical and social effects of climatic change in the Mediterranean, the workshop aimed at nourishing reflection on this topic. The audience, composed of scientists of the whole basin (14 nationalities), successively discussed scientific and economic pre-requisites, regional and national priorities in research, and synergy between research and policy makers on the topic of climatic change in the Mediterranean .

Debates mainly covered the following topics :

• The necessity of the multi-disciplinarity
• The pronunciation synergy of the research on CC with sectoral approaches
• New forms of the North-south scientific collaboration in the Mediterranean
• Institutional capacity building
