PARMENIDES Steering Committee

On January 24th, 2008, Henri-Luc Thibault participated in the PARMENIDES steering committee. The Professor A. Capron, member of the Institut de France, chaired this steering committee that was organized in the Académie des Sciences and that gathered officials of research institutions (CNRS, IRD, IFREMER), of development institutions (AFD), of education centres (INSU, CPU, CIHEAM), of Ministries (French Ministry of Agriculture, French Ministry of Environment). It aimed to outline the road map for the setting-up of a Mediterranean scientific network. A the end of the debates, it was decided to organize during the first half-year of 2008 three one-day workshops devoted respectively to agriculture, water and natural resources, climate change. These workshops will aim on one hand, to test the pertinence of a Mediterranean scientific skills mutualization about these matters and on the other hand, to identify some priority issues. The content of these workshops will be specified by project leaders in association with Plan Bleu.
