First meeting of technical experts on implementation of the
ecosystem approach in the Mediterranean

“A Mediterranean both clean and healthy, with biologically diverse and productive marine and coastal ecosystems for present and future generations” is the ecological vision adopted by the Contracting Parties for the implementation of the ecosystem approach in the management of human activities that could impact marine and coastal environment in the Mediterranean.

The implementation of this approach is progressing.  From the 8th to the 9 th of April in Roma, Plan Bleu actively participated to the first meeting of technical experts, presenting the results of its study on economic assessment of the sustainable benefits issued from Mediterranean marine ecosystems.

This meeting is one of the steps of the roadmap set up for this approach, an important component of the MAP work programme for 5 years.
