Meeting "Water Expert Group" of UfM

The First Meeting of the Water Expert Group was held on 7-8 September 2009, in Athens, in the framework of the Union for the Mediterranean. It included experts from 26 countries, the European Commission and the League of Arab States and was also attended by MAP/MEDPOL and MAP/BLUE PLAN, represented by Pierre Icard and Florence Pintus. The Water Expert Group agreed to set up a Technical Drafting Group in charge of the elaboration of the Strategy for Water in the Mediterranean in line with the terms of reference presented by Greece and Spain. The next Water Expert Group meeting will be held in Cairo on the 4 th november 2009.
