Kick-off meeting of the PEGASO project
Julien Le Tellier and Jean-Pierre Giraud represented the Blue Plan at the kick-off meeting of the PEGASO project (People for Ecosystem-Based Governance in Assessing Sustainable Development of Ocean and Coast), in Venice from 12 to 14 April 2010.
With the welcome of the University Ca 'Foscari, the PEGASO kick-off meeting has been held in the Venetian Theater “Auditorium Santa Margherita”, with teams’ members of the project, representatives of the Mediterranean “End-users Committee” and of the “Black Sea Strategic Panel”, as well as partners of the collaborative application sites (CASES): all of them are involved in the “ICZM shared governance platform”.
PEGASO aims to co-build a bridge among scientists and decision makers to support the adoption and implementation of the ICZM Protocol at local, national and international scales, in involving a wide range of stakeholders who are all determined to contribute to a better future for our Mediterranean coastal areas. Thus, access to data, scientific research and its methods and interactive tools, as well as their application in ten pilot sites and the active participation of stakeholders are crucial elements for the success of the project.
