Workshop on Economics of water demand management in Jordan
From 1st to 3rd December 2011, Gaëlle Thivet participated in a training workshop on ”Economics of water demand management in Jordan” that took place in Amman and near the Dead Sea. This workshop was organized in the framework of the water demand management (WDM) component of the Marseille Centre for Mediterranean Integration (CMI) “Environment and Water” Programme (EW2), by the French Development Agency (AFD/CEFEB), jointly with the Jordan Ministry of Water and Irrigation and with the contribution of Plan Bleu.
This workshop gathered together more than forty Jordan participants coming from different administrations (Ministries in charge of water and irrigation, agriculture, public works and housing, municipalities, trade, tourism, energy, planning and international cooperation), public institutions (Jordan Valley Authority…), water companies (Amman, Aqaba) and engineers associations, as well as international experts and donors (McKinsey, USAID, GIZ, JICA…).
