Technical seminar on "Urban mobility and sustainable development in
the Mediterranean"

On the 23rd & 24th of November a Regional technical seminar organized by Blue Plan on “Urban mobility and sustainable urban development in the Mediterranean” took place in Sophia Antipolis.

During this event, the Urban mobility activities of the Blue Plan, and especially the case study program on six Mediterranean cities (Tanger, Algiers, Tunis, Cairo, Aleppo and Istanbul), were presented to some forty Mediterranean rim experts.

This was the occasion for crossed analysis on the specificities of local situations and to debate at regional level between experts and local practitioners, but also with the French Development Agency, the World Bank and Veolia-Environment, members of th e Steering committee of this study program. The seminar proceedings will come in completion to the regional study in progress and will be the subject of a coordinated publication by Blue Plan sometime in 2010.
