Seminar on “Global Warming”

On March 30th, 2010, Henri-Luc Thibault participated in the seminar on “Global Warming” organized by the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (Lebanon) – Faculty of Sciences and Computer Engineering (FSCE), under the high patronage of H.E.M. Mohammad Rahal, Minister of Environment. This seminar gathered politicians, researchers, civil society stakeholders, students and gave the opportunity to describe the scenarios drawn by IPCC experts for the Mediterranean region, to discuss the limits of used models, to mention the foreseeable impacts of climate change and the Mediterranean difficulties to mobilize the available financial mechanisms to mitigate them. The Lebanon case was particularly mentioned and its special vulnerability was pushed forward by the national researchers. A the end of the meeting, recommendations were adopted for passing on to Minister of Environment.
