Conference "Responding to the Challenge of Sustainable development
in the Mediterranean"

On 6-7 April 2009 in Nice (France), Henri-Luc Thibault participated to the conference on the theme "Sustainable Development in the Mediterranean Region", organized by the European Economic and Social Committee, in cooperation with the Union pour la Méditerranée and the City of Nice.
The aim of the conference was to demonstrate practical examples of how civil society stakeholders are tackling sustainable development issues in the Mediterranean region. The event focused on three themes: 1/ water quality and prevention of pollution of the Mediterranean Sea; 2/ water management and prevention of drought; 3/ and sustainable governance of cities.
