First « sustainable development » Ministry Meeting of the Union For the Mediterranean On the 25th of June 2009 the first « sustainable development » Ministry Meeting of the Union For the Mediterranean took place in Paris. Blue Plan was representing the MAP at the meeting as well as at the preparatory workshops “water”, “energy”, and “sustainable cities”. <More …> Plan Bleu's 2008 activity report Plan Bleu just published its 2008 activity report, that is available on the website in English and French. Green Week of the European Commission, Brussels, 23-26th June 2009 On the occasion of this Green Week, organized this year on the climate change theme, the Blue Plan presented its works on this phenomenon’s impacts and adaptation in the Mediterranean region. The entire participants took much interest in the works, thus expressed by several collaboration requests’ coming from NGO’s as well as International and National Institutions’. 7th MEDREG General Assembly Mr El Habib El Andaloussi attended the 7th MEDREG General Assembly, which took place in Cairo, Egypt, on 9 June 2009. The objectives of this meeting were to review the activities 2008-2009 of the three centres, as well as to study the working programme for the 2010-2011 biennium. Water Cluster meeting Mohammed Blinda participated at the Water Cluster meeting held on 26 May by Veolia Water of Montpellier and its local partners. < More … > Mission on the economic value of marine ecosystems in the Mediterranean On the 14th and 15th May, Anaï Mangos led a mission in the Netherlands in order to present the Blue Plan’s working program on the economic value of marine ecosystems in the Mediterranean to various experts in the environment’s economic approach. < More … > 6th FEMIP Conference On May 11th, 2009, in Monaco, Henri-Luc Thibault and Pierre Icard took part in the 6th FEMIP conference (Facility for Euro-Mediterranean Investment and Partnership), organized by the European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Principality of Monaco. This conference, that was held under the high patronage and in the presence of H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince Albert II, addressed the theme of "Sustainable Water Financing and Climate Change in the Mediterranean" and brought together government officials as well as representatives of water sector, international financing institutions and media organizations.
